Mummy’s Lil Helper Pty Ltd (ABN 63 698 246 892) (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to providing quality cleaning, nannying, babysitting and petsitting services to families across the Macedon Ranges, and to protecting the privacy of your personal information. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we collect and use it, who we share it with, and how you can access or correct it.
We are committed to complying with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act). A copy of the Australian Privacy Principles is available from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au.
What personal information we collect
The type of personal information we collect depends on the service you use, but generally includes:
- Your name, address, email address and phone number
- Details about your household, children and/or pets that are relevant to the care or cleaning service being provided (for example, routines, allergies, access instructions, emergency contacts)
- Booking, scheduling and payment details
- Any other information you choose to share with us to help us provide a safe and personalised service
We do not collect more information than we reasonably need to provide our services.
How we collect your information
We collect personal information directly from you in a number of ways, including:
- Phone calls and text messages
- Emails
- Our website contact and booking forms
- In person, such as during a meet and greet, trial shift or service visit
Where reasonable and practicable, we collect personal information only from you directly. If we are ever provided with information about you from a third party (for example, a referral from another client), we will take reasonable steps to make sure you are aware of this.
Text message and phone communications
We use text messages and phone calls to communicate with clients about bookings, including appointment confirmations and reminders, carer arrival updates, invoices and payment reminders, and general service updates. Message frequency will vary depending on your bookings with us.
Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Message and data rates are the responsibility of your carrier, not Mummy’s Lil Helper.
You can opt out of receiving text messages from us at any time by replying STOP, or by contacting us directly using the details at the end of this policy. If you need help, reply HELP or contact us directly.
Sensitive information
Sensitive information is defined under the Privacy Act to include things like health information (for example, allergies or medical needs relevant to the care of your children or pets). We will only use sensitive information for the purpose it was provided to us, a directly related secondary purpose, with your consent, or where required or authorised by law.
How we use your information
We use your personal information for the primary purpose of providing our cleaning, nannying, babysitting and petsitting services to you, including scheduling, communicating with you about your bookings, and processing payments. We may also use it for closely related secondary purposes, such as occasional service updates, where you would reasonably expect this. You can unsubscribe from any marketing communications at any time by contacting us in writing.
Who we share your information with
We only share your personal information where necessary to provide our services, or where required by law.
Staff and carers: Relevant client details are shared with the carer or cleaner assigned to your booking through our job management platform, Jobber, so they can provide your service safely and reliably. Staff access to client information in Jobber is removed as soon as they are no longer engaged with Mummy’s Lil Helper. All staff are bound by confidentiality obligations in their employment agreements, which prohibit them from disclosing or using client information for any purpose outside their role, and from soliciting clients or sharing client details with third parties.
Service providers: We use trusted third-party platforms to help run our business, including (but not limited to) Jobber (scheduling, invoicing and client records), SIPcity (phone and text communications), Google Workspace and Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management). We may adopt additional or alternative systems and service providers over time as our business grows; any new provider we use will be held to the same standard of only accessing personal information as needed to provide their service to us, and being bound by their own privacy and security obligations.
Emergency services: In the event of a health issue, accident, emergency, or a situation involving danger to a client, staff member or member of the public, we may share relevant personal information with emergency services, police, or first aid responders, to the extent necessary to protect health and safety. This may include, for example, contacting paramedics or police, or providing them with relevant medical or contact details.
Legal requirements: We may disclose personal information where required or authorised by law, or with your consent.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes.
Security of your personal information
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including restricting staff access to client records to what is needed for their role, and revoking that access once a staff member leaves the business. When personal information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it, other than information we are required to retain for record-keeping purposes.
Access to and correction of your information
You can ask us to access, update or correct the personal information we hold about you at any time by contacting us using the details below. We will not charge a fee for a reasonable access request, though we may charge a small administrative fee for providing copies of information. We may need to verify your identity before releasing any information.
Policy updates
This policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal obligations. The current version will always be available on our website.
